Tottenham Hotspur FC have loaned England Under-21 international Calum Davenport to first division West Ham United FC for three months. The Premiership club signed the talented young defender from Coventry City FC last month in a deal potentially worth €4.5m. Davenport played for England U21s in their 3-1 victory in Poland on Tuesday night, partnering new West Ham colleague Anton Ferdinand.

Staying in England, Birmingham City FC have agreed a new contract with Damien Johnson that will keep the 26-year-old at the club until 2007. Johnson joined Birmingham from Blackburn Rovers FC in 2002 in a €75,000 transfer and his manager, Steve Bruce, describes him as "one of the best signings I have ever made".
