Late flurry
Metz, one of five unbeaten teams after four games, took a 13th-minute lead through Tum, who has scored three times since joining Jean Fernandez's side on a free transfer from FC Basel 1893. Péguy Luyindula's 27th-minute strike levelled matters but two goals in the last three minutes, first from Stéphane Borbiconi on 88 minutes then from Tum, wrapped up another victory for the visitors.
Lens punctured
A point behind Metz in second place are AJ Auxerre, who claimed their third win at home against newly-promoted SM Caen thanks to a last-gasp strike from midfielder Lionel Mathis. One of four clubs on eight points, RC Lens conceded their first goal of the campaign in a 1-1 home draw with AS Monaco FC. Mohamed Kallon put Didier Deschamps' men ahead on eight minutes but Nicolas Gillet's free-kick shortly before half-time salvaged a point for Lens.
Frei top
SC Bastia drew 1-1 at OGC Nice on Friday night and goals by Cyril Rool and Lilian Laslandes gave FC Girondins de Bordeaux a 2-0 home victory against FC Sochaux-Montbéliard the following evening. Stade Rennais FC's Switzerland striker Alexander Frei heads the Ligue 1 goalscoring charts after registering his fourth of the season in a 1-1 draw at AC Ajaccio.
Frau finish
Elsewhere, Toulouse FC snatched a 2-2 draw at FC Nantes Atlantique to stay in the top four. RC Strasbourg drew 1-1 with visiting FC Istres while a ninth-minute goal by Pierre-Alain Frau was enough for champions Olympique Lyonnais to take all three points against Lille OSC at the Stade Gerland.
Sunday game
Finally, Paris Saint-Germain FC entertained AS Saint-Etienne in Sunday's game and an 88th-minute equaliser by Frédéric Piquionne denied PSG a first win. Piquionne had given St Etienne a 65th-minute advantage but two goals in four minutes from Pauleta and Bartholomew Ogbeche seemed to have put PSG on course for victory.
