News round-up: Belgian side KRC Genk have announced the signing of Orlando Engelaar from NAC Breda.

Another Belgian team, R. Charleroi SC, have signed Grégory Christ from French fourth division outfit RC Paris. The 21-year-old midfield player has penned a two-year deal with a two-year extension option. Christ is able to play on either wing and was named his division's best passer last season.

Elsewhere in Belgium, Algerian international striker Abdelmalek Cherrad has joined KAA Gent on a one-year loan. The 23-year-old moves from OGC Nice and will play under former Algeria coach George Leekens at Gent.

PSV Eindhoven's Portuguese forward Edson is switching to Tottenham Hotspur FC of the Premiership. Born in Cape Verde, the 21-year-old has followed former PSV general manager Frank Arnesen, Tottenham's new sporting director, to London. Edson's contract terms are undisclosed.

Valencia CF midfield player Raúl Albiol has sealed a one-year loan deal with Getafe CF. A member of Spain's winning team at last month's UEFA European Under-19 Championship, he was injured in a car accident on 6 August while travelling to Madrid to sign for the Primera División newcomers. Getafe have also loaned reserve goalkeeper Noé Calleja to second division Algeciras CF.
