Norwich joy at Jonson capture

Norwich City FC have signed Swedish international winger Mattias Jonson on a two-year contract.

'Great pace'
"I am delighted to have got Mattias to sign for Norwich," Norwich manager Nigel Worthington said. "He is an attacking player with great pace and good experience. He had an exceptional [UEFA] EURO 2004™ and will add quality to what we've already got."

Dramatic strike
Jonson scored Sweden's dramatic late equaliser against Denmark that secured their quarter-final place, and has registered seven times in all in 41 appearances for his country.

'Big opportunity'
The 30-year-old, who played in all four of Sweden's games at EURO 2004™, has spent the past six seasons at Brøndby after spells at Örebro SK and Helsingborgs IF in his native Sweden, and is looking forward to the challenge ahead. "It's a big opportunity to show the club and the fans what I'm about," he said.

Helveg signing
Jonson, who arrives at Carrow Road for an undisclosed fee, can play on either flank or as a central striker. He is Norwich's second major summer signing following the addition of Danish international Thomas Helveg from FC Internazionale.
