Voronin levels late for Leverkusen

Andriy Voronin's late equaliser gave Bayer 04 Leverkusen a 2-2 draw at VfL Bochum 1848 in the Bundesliga.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen scored in the closing minutes to earn a 2-2 at VfL Bochum 1848 while VfL Wolfsburg slipped to
1-0 defeat at home to SC Freiburg in Sunday's Bundesliga matches.

Lokvenc opener
Bochum looked the better side for much of the game and took the lead on 29 minutes when midfield player Christoph Preuss found Vratislav Lokvenc in space and the Czech international gave the home side the lead. Leverkusen looked a very different side to the one that beat FC Baník Ostrava 5-0 on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, but still managed to claw their way back into the game with Dimitar Berbatov heading them level on 66 minutes.

Late leveller
Bochum soon bounced back though and three minutes later they regained the lead with Preuss capping off an excellent display with a goal against his former employers. However, with just three minutes remaining Andriy Voronin scored to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.

Dorn sinks Wolfsburg
Elsewhere on Sunday, Freiburg saw off Wolfsburg in the Volkswagenarena. Despite dominating long periods of the match, Wolfsburg were unable to find a goal, twice striking the woodwork. They paid the price when Freiburg stole all three points with just five minutes remaining through substitute Régis Dorn.
