Giglio honour
The 25-year-old Maltese international beat off competition from two other players who helped Sliema to the double last season, Joe Brincat and Michael Mifsud. Giglio, who earlier this year won a similar award from the Malta Football Association, told uefa.com: "I would like to dedicate these two awards to everyone at Sliema, in particular to all my team-mates."

On a glittering night for Sliema, Edward Aquilina was voted best coach, with Jeffrey Chetcuti, Giglio and Danilo Doncic taking the honours as best defender, midfield player and attacker respectively. Pietà Hotspurs FC claimed two prizes as Saviour Darmanin retained his best goalkeeper gong and Ivan Woods won the goal of the season award for his strike against Floriana FC.
Schembri celebrations
Floriana's Brazilian striker André Da Silva was selected as best foreign player and Hibernians FC's Dorianne Theuma as best female player. Hibernians' 18-year-old forward André Schembri was voted the most promising youngster, while his grandfather Salvino Schembri, 81, won a special achievement award following a career in which he captained Malta in their first international against Austria on 24 February 1957.
