Article body
Five-year contract
The 25-year-old striker is expected in Spain on Friday night and will sign a five-year contract on Saturday, provided he passes a medical. The two clubs have agreed a fee thought to be in the region of €3m.
Scoring struggle
Forlán, who scored a spectacular goal against Senegal at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, joined United in January 2002 from Argentina's CA Independiente but struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford. In total, he scored ten league goals in 62 appearances, the majority of which were as a substitute.
Cazorla signs contract
Meanwhile, midfield player Santiago Cazorla has signed his first professional contract with the club, a three-year deal until June 2007. The 19-year-old youth-team graduate made his first-team debut in a 1-0 win at RC Deportivo La Coruña last November. He has been handed the No4 shirt previously worn by Pedro Martí.
