Foreign interest
The defender had attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in European football, with the likes of Manchester United FC, S.S. Lazio, AS Roma, Real Madrid CF and Club Atlético de Madrid all having allegedly shown an interest in Serbia and Montenegro international, who has won six caps for his country.
Details concealed
The details of the transfer have not been revealed although it has been reported that Vidic has become the most expensive defender in the history of the Russian Premier-Liga.
Zvezda career
Vidic has been a key member of the Crvena Zvezda side for the last three years, making 67 appearances and scoring 12 goals. He twice helped his side to take runners-up slot in the Prva savezna liga before finally winning the title last season. He also won the Serbo-Montenegrin Cup in 2001/02 and 2003/04.
