Mario Beretta has signed a one-year contract to take charge of AC Chievo Verona.
'Not overawed'
The Italian side had been looking for a new coach since Luigi Del Neri left to take charge of European champions FC Porto earlier this month. "I'm delighted," the 44-year-old said. "Serie A will be an enormous challenge, but I'm not overawed."
Serie A debut
Beretta has never coached a team in Italy's top flight. His best previous achievement was seventh place in Serie B with Ternana Calcio in 2002/03.
