The 42-year-old will take over from 1 July and will be joined by the club's former striker Frédéric Tilmant, who has retired as a player to become Cartier's assistant.
Coaching career
Cartier, whose playing career encompassed spells with AS Nancy-Lorraine and FC Metz, where he was captain, has previously coached at Metz and more lately at FC Guegnon, from where he was sacked in February.
