Mixed emotions
The 22-year-old Bamogo scored 16 goals for Montpellier in the 2003/04 campaign. However, the French Under-21 international was not able to help his side avoid relegation, as they finished bottom of the table.
Drogba link
Bamogo has signed a five-year contract with the UEFA Cup finalists, who finished seventh in Ligue 1 and will miss out on Europe next season. Bamogo will link up with in-demand Marseille striker Didier Drogba and the club's chairman, Christophe Bouchet, said: "He will act as a substitute to Drogba and as a complement as well."
Busy time
Marseille have been busy preparing for next season. Last week, they agreed a deal to sign FC Sochaux-Montbéliard midfield player Benoît Pedretti while they have also extended the contract of Brazilian defender Demetrius Ferreira. The club are also reportedly courting Paris Saint-Germain FC captain Frédéric Déhu, with a deal believed to be possible in the coming week.
