Muhsin Ertugral has taken over from Werner Gregoritsch as coach of Austrian side SV Mattersburg.

Successful spell
The 45-year-old Turkish coach has stepped in to replace Gregoritsch who parted company with Mattersburg earlier this week. Appointed in 2002, Gregoritsch led his side to promotion in the 2002/03 season and helped them to survive their first season in the top flight, as they finished eighth - five points clear of relegation.

Higher ambitions
However, club president Martin Pucher is keen for Gregoritsch's successor - who has previously coached the DR Congo national team as well as South African side Kaiser Chiefs and Morocco's Club Africain - to do better in 2004/05. "We'd like to widen our limited horizon and don't want to have anything to do with relegation," he said.

New additions
In addition to appointing a new coach, Mattersburg have also confirmed that players Wolfgang Hofer, Tibor Zatek, Jan Koziak and Miso Trninic will leave the Pappelstadium this summer. However, captain Dietmar Kühbauer has signed a new contract until 2006, and the club have also signed former SK Rapid Wien striker Rene Wagner, SV Austria Lustenau defender Jürgen Patocka and youngster Jürgen Rauchbauer.
