Article body
Soulis Papadopoulos will be the coach of Cypriot side Apollon Limassol FC next season.
New coach
The 37-year-old will take over from Austrian Rolf Freiger, who led Apollon to a third-placed finish this season. Papadopoulos moves to Cyprus from Proodeftiki FC, whom he failed to save from relegation from the Greek top flight.
Popular assistant
Papadopoulos's assistant will be Milenko Spoljaric, regarded by many to be Apollon's finest ever foreign-born player, who has agreed a new deal with the club. Romanian midfield player Bogdan Andone, Christos Marangos and Michalis Fannis have also agreed to sign new, season-long contracts at Apollon.
Up-and-down season
Despite a bright start to the campaign last year, in which they led the standings for most of the first half of the season, their form dipped after the departure of Romanian coach Ilie Dumitrescu, who left to take over at AEK Athens FC.
