PFC Levski Sofia's Sasa Simonovic may be out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
Under the knife
The 28-year-old midfield player went under the knife today after suffering an injury during Levski's recent 3-0 win against Bulgarian league leaders PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
'A key player'
Coach Georgi Vasilev said that the Serbian would be greatly missed during his absence. "I really regret that Simonovic suffered an injury right now," he said. "He was in good form and is a key player in our squad."
Nervous wait
Simonovic will be out of action for up to a month, but could miss the end of the Bulgarian season on 15 May if there are complications. Levski are currently fourth in the table, five points adrift of the league leaders.
