Final berth for Brugge

Club Brugge KV are to meet KSK Beveren in the Belgian Cup final after defeating R. Excelsior Mouscron 1-0 at the Jan Breydelstadion to go through 3-2 on aggregate.

Both teams could have gone ahead before the break, with home goalkeeper Tomislav Butina forced to make a sharp save from Luigi Peroni and Gert Verheyen watching his shot cannon off the post.

Blondel winner
But Brugge, who were knocked out of the UEFA Cup on Thursday by Ligue 1 side FC Girondins de Bordeaux, picked up their solitary goal in the 54th minute when former Mouscron midfield player Jonathan Blondel slammed in a volley.

Beveren date
Beveren reached the final by ending RSC Anderlecht's hopes of their first Belgian Cup triumph since 1994 on the away-goals rule on Friday.

Trophy chance
The final, which will be contested on 23 May in Brussels, represents the only realistic chance of silverware for Trond Sollied's men as they lie 13 points behind Anderlecht in the league standings.
