AFC Ajax

Miserable campaign
The Finnish international hurt his right ankle in training on Tuesday and tests have confirmed he will be absent for four to six weeks. Two months remain before the season ends and it has so far been a miserable campaign for the 33-year-old who, because of a combination of injuries, has made only nine appearances.

Cruchaga's new contract
Defender César Cruchaga is likely to end his playing days with CA Osasuna after agreeing a new contract until 2007. The 30-year-old centre-back has spent his entire career with the Pamplona club and has been a permanent fixture in the first team since stepping up from the B side in 2000.

Jackson deal
Tottenham Hotspur FC have awarded midfield player Johnnie Jackson a new contract. The 21-year-old, a product of the club's youth academy, "has made good progress this season" according to acting manager, David Pleat. Tottenham have not disclosed the terms of his new deal.

Pennant stays on
Staying in England, Arsenal FC winger Jermaine Pennant has extended his loan at Leeds United AFC for another month. The 21-year-old will remain at Elland Road until 19 April and expects to stay there "right to the end of the season", he told the club's website.
