Manchester City FC's on-loan Belgium defender Daniel van Buyten is out for the rest of the season.

Belgian international defender Daniel van Buyten, who is on loan at Manchester City FC from Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille, has been ruled out for the rest of the season because of a groin injury.

Cox disappointment
The 26-year-old, who was sent off in City's defeat at Leeds United AFC on Monday, suffered the problem during a training session on Thursday. "It is a grade three tear and I don't expect to see him again this season," City's assistant coach, Arthur Cox, said. "It is very unfortunate because he has done well since joining us."

Highly rated
Manager Kevin Keegan fears that he has now seen the last of a player who arrived during the winter transfer window. "He is a terrific player and I don't think we will keep him at the end of the campaign," he said. "The deal we have is not tight and other teams are sure to nip in."
