Oliseh released
BV Borussia Dortmund have released Nigerian international midfield player Sunday Oliseh. The 29-year-old had been on loan at VfL Bochum this season but was sent back to Dortmund after head-butting team-mate Vahid Hashemian in a dressing-room row that followed the goalless draw with FC Hansa Rostock last month. Oliseh, whose contract at Dortmund was due to run until 2005, will be free to join another club in the summer.

Rubén undergoes surgery
Staying in the Bundesliga, VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach's on-loan defender Rubén González has undergone shoulder surgery back in Madrid. The player, loaned from Real Madrid CF, had surgery on both shoulders and a decision will follow on whether he will return to the Bökelbergstadion club for the remainder of the season.

Stroeve signs new deal
In the Netherlands, Roy Stroeve has agreed a two-year contract extension with ADO Den Haag. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder played a major part in Den Haag's promotion to the Eredivisie last season, scoring 17 goals in 34 matches, and this term has scored five times in 21 appearances. His new deal runs until until the summer of 2006.

Bakkati rewarded
SC Heerenveen defender Saïd Bakkati has also been awarded a new contract. The 21-year-old's previous deal was due to expire in the summer but he will remain with the Eredivisie side after signing an extension until the summer of 2007. Bakkati has been with Heerenveen since 2000.

Van Beukering loan
SBV Vitesse striker Johnny van Beukering will spend the rest of the season on loan at second division De Graafschap. The 20-year-old has had limited opportunities at the Arnhem club following the arrivals of Paulo Rink and Peter van Vossen.

Gemmill move
On the move in England is Scotland midfield player Scot Gemmill, who has joined English first division side Preston North End FC on a month's loan from Everton FC. Meanwhile, Southampton FC's assistant manager, Garry Pendrey, has left the club following the appointment of Paul Sturrock as Gordon Strachan's successor.

New president
In Croatia, finally, Mladen Prostenik has resigned as president of NK Zagreb. Replacing him is Drazen Medic, a 42-year-old businessman. Prostenik's departures comes in the same week that Zagreb's main sponsor, the Croatian oil company INA, decided to sever its ties with the club.
