Sevilla FC have signed Uruguayan forward Federico Magallanes, 27, until the end of the season with the option to make the deal permanent should he impress.
Brazilian international midfield player Ricardinho has moved to Middlesbrough FC on loan until the season's end. The 27-year-old, capped ten times by Brazil, has been a free agent after leaving São Paulo last month.
Portsmouth FC have recruited Newcastle United FC's Lomano LuaLua and John Curtis from Leicester City FC. Portsmouth have clinched a three-month loan deal for striker LuaLua, 23, paying around €150,000 for the Congolese international, and have landed Curtis, 25, on an 18-month contract.
Leicester themselves have captured the Derby County FC forward Lee Morris for a nominal fee. The 23-year-old has penned a two-and-a-half year deal. Charlton Athletic FC have spent €145,000 on the 20-year-old Arsenal FC winger Jerome Thomas. Bolton Wanderers FC have taken the young Liverpool FC full-back John Otsemobor on loan until the summer. In Scotland, Dundee FC have acquired German midfield player Sebastian Kneissl on loan from Chelsea FC.
R. Antwerp FC have completed loan moves for Chinese striker Dong Fangzhou and Brazilian winger Marcos Pereira. Dong, 19, arrives from Manchester United FC, who signed the player earlier this month from Dalian Shide FC. Marcos Pereira, meanwhile, joins the Belgian first division's bottom team until the end of the season having fallen out of favour at K. Sint Truidense VV.
Dutch side Willem II have signed right wing-back Antony Spinosa from R. Standard de Liège. The Belgium Under-19 national team captain has a signed a contract until the end of this season, with an option for a longer period.
In France, league leaders AS Monaco FC have loaned out two young midfield players, sending Sébastien Carole to English first division side West Ham United FC and Souleymane Camara to the Ligue 1's bottom club, EA Guingamp.
Brazilian full-back Vitorino Hilton has gone to SC Bastia on a six-month loan from Switzerland's Servette FC and replaces at the Corsican club his compatriot Demetrius Ferreira, who joined Olympique de Marseille last week. Meanwhile, another Brazilian full-back, Bonfim, has signed for Lille OSC from EC Juventude.
FC Girondins de Bordeaux have re-signed defender Kodjo Afanou, who left the club last summer to play for Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates. The 26-year-old returns to the club on a six-month contract.
VfL Wolfsburg have secured the services of FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Serbo-Montenegrin defender Nenad Lalatovic on loan until the end of the season. Another Bundesliga team, 1. FC Köln, have signed Bosnia-Herzegovnian international Vladen Grujic from SK Borac Banja Luka on loan until June 2005, with an option to buy the 22-year-old outright.
Hamburger SV's Argentinian midfield player Christian Ledesma will spend the rest of the campaign back in his home country after agreeing a loan switch to Club Colón.
Liberian forward Samuel Wowoah has joined Norwegian side Stabæk IF on a 12-month loan from Swedish champions Djurgårdens IF. Wowoah was a key figure in Djurgården's 2003 title success before travelling to Bekkestua for a trial last month. He will add to Stabæk's attacking options after midfield player Martin Andresen moved to Blackburn Rovers FC on loan.
Finally, Andreas Herzog is to become the first Austrian to play in US Major League Soccer after agreeing a two-year contract with Los Angeles Galaxy. The 35-year-old former international left SK Rapid Wien last summer and has since been training with third division Vienna FC.
