Established player
The 21-year-old has been with Standard since 1994 and has risen through the ranks to become one of the key players in the team. Walasiak made his international breakthrough last August, picking up his first cap against the Netherlands.
Injury setback
He has made another international appearance since and had been due to play for the Red Devils again against France in midweek but was forced to pull out with a thigh strain. Standard are ciurrently second in the Belgian first division but are 18 points behind leaders RSC Anderlecht.
