Better chances
Zaragoza owe their final place to Savio's last-minute equaliser in the semi-final first leg at Alavés last week, which finished 1-1. Although Zaragoza had the better chances on the night, second division Alavés made life awkward for them and the home supporters in La Romareda were relieved to greet the final whistle.
Repeat of 1993
Awaiting Víctor Muñoz's side in the final on 17 March are Real Madrid CF, in a repeat of the 1993 final which Madrid won 2-0 to secure their most recent domestic cup success. Zaragoza, who are fourth-bottom of the Primera División, have won the Copa del Rey five times, most recently in 2001.
