Hosts Tunisia secure progress

Members

Tunisia reached the African Cup of Nations quarter-finals by beating DR Congo, while Guinea were held by Rwanda.

Lua Lua sent off
The Congolese had their captain, Newcastle United FC's Lomana Lua Lua, sent off following an off-the-ball incident in the first half, effectively setting Tunisia up for the win after the break. Lua Lua kicked out at Tunisia midfield player Jaohar Mnari, who began to walk away before collapsing to the ground in the 38th minute of the Group A tie.

Dos Santos scores
The Brazilian-born Francileudo dos Santos scored twice after the break, on 57 and 87 minutes, sandwiching Najeh Braham's 65th-minute goal, as Tunisia secured their progress. Dos Santos now has three goals in the tournament, making him its leading scorer.

Rwanda earn point
In the other Group A match, Kamanzi Karim's stoppage-time goal earned Rwanda a draw against Guinea, and with it their first-ever point in the competition. Titi Camara had put Guinea ahead in the 48th minute only for Karim to level three minutes into added time. Guinea are second in the group with four points.
