Second change
Chairman Ermanno Pieroni has decided to change coach for the second time this season - and for the third time since the end of the club's 2002/03 promotion campaign - with the team having drawn five and lost 13 of their 18 league fixtures.
Poor return
Sonetti had replaced Leonardo Menichini, a July appointment, four games into the season, but was able to register only four points from 14 Serie A matches.
Lecce bow
Galeone, formerly in charge of Pescara Calcio, will be assisted by Maurizio Trombetta. His first game will be at home to US Lecce on Sunday. Ancona signed Dino Baggio and Mário Jardel earlier this month.
