Inter clinch Juve date

Members

FC Internazionale moved through to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, where they will meet Juventus FC.

FC Internazionale and Juventus FC will meet in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia as both secured second-leg victories in their respective quarter-finals tonight.

Curling free-kick
After a goalless first leg in Udine last week, Inter found their goalscoring form in the San Siro, wrapping up a 3-1 win against Udinese Calcio. Dutch midfield player Andy van der Meyde opened the scoring in the 17th minute, beating visiting goalkeeper Olivier Renard with a curling free-kick from a wide position.

Udinese fight back
However, Udinese striker Dino Fava brought his side level just past the half-hour, heading Alberto's cross into the net. It might have been even better for the visitors late in the first half, but Martin Jørgensen's effort rebounded off the crossbar.

Decisive blows
Six minutes after the restart, Inter striker Obafemi Martins ran on to a long ball to restore the home side's lead, and Argentinian striker Julio Cruz effectively ended the tie eleven minutes later, picking himself up to score from the spot after he had been fouled in the penalty area.

Solo strike
Inter will meet Juventus in the last four. Leading 2-1 from the first leg at AC Perugia, the Turin giants never looked in danger of losing their advantage at the Stadio Delle Alpi, and wrapped up the win five minutes before half-time through Fabrizio Miccoli. The former Perugia striker scored a fine solo goal, breaking down the right and cutting inside before scoring with a shot into the far corner of the net.

Final repeat
The remaining quarter-final will be decided on Thursday when, in a repeat of last year's final, AC Milan visit Serie A leaders AS Roma seeking to preserve a slender 2-1 lead. The winners will play S.S. Lazio, who defeated Parma AC 3-1 on aggregate following a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.
