S.S. Lazio and Parma AC missed the chance to close the gap on the Serie A leaders as they were both held.

S.S. Lazio missed the chance to close the gap on the leading pack in Serie A as they were held to a 1-1 draw at lowly Modena FC.

Ten-point deficit
The result left Roberto Mancini's side ten points behind league leaders and city rivals AS Roma before Sunday's matches. Modena failed to capitalise on their first-half possession and fell behind in the 24th minute, when a Lazio counterattack ended with striker Roberto Muzzi rolling the ball into the path of Claudio López, who shot low into the net.

Campedelli composure
Lazio continued to look dangerous on the break immediately after the interval, but were pegged back on the hour when uncertainty in defence allowed home midfield player Nicola Campedelli to sweep a loose ball past goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi. Modena, who have not won a Serie A match since early November, moved up to 13th place after the draw.
