Article body
FC Dynamo Kyiv have signed the Belarussian international striker Sergei Kornilenko on a five-year contract.
Scoring spree
The 20-year-old forward, whose recent form earned him a first senior international appearance, scored 18 goals in 30 games for FC Dinamo Minsk, making him the Belarussian top flight's leading scorer. His domestic form, as well as a series of impressive displays for the country's Under-21 side, brought him to the attention of VfB Stuttgart, but Kornilenko opted to sign for the Ukrainian champions instead.
Third striker
Kornilenko is in line to make his Dynamo debut at the Commonwealth Cup in Moscow, where the Ukrainians are expected to field their reserve side. He will fly to Kiev from Portugal, where he was at a pre-season training camp with the Belarus U21 squad, who have qualified for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Kornilenko will link up with two other recent Dynamo signings, Latvia striker Maris Verpakovskis and Brazilian Under-20 international Kleber.
