R. Standard de Liège have signed 38-year-old midfield player Danny Boffin from K. Sint Truidense VV.
New contract
The former Belgium international has signed a contract until the end of the season with the side currently lying second in the Belgian First Division, and is hoping to earn himself another year's contract with his performances in the remainder of the season.
Free transfer
Having earned 53 Belgian caps during his career, the former RSC Anderlecht and FC Metz player is joining Standard on a free transfer despite having signed a contract which would have kept him at Sint-Truiden until the end of the season.
Boffin delight
"Marc Wilmots contacted me as negotiator for Standard," said Boffin. "I am very glad to be given a chance at a top club again at my age. It must be that Standard finds me suitable for that. The fact they have put an option for another year in the contract proves they really have faith in me."
