Article body
Birmingham City FC have cancelled Argentinian striker Luciano Figueroa's contract by mutual consent.
Two appearances
The 22-year-old had made just two appearances for the FA Premiership club since joining from CA Rosario Central in July this year. Having failed to settle at the Midlands club, he has now joined Mexican side Club Deportivo Cruz Azul.
Hamburg reinforcement
Elsewhere, Hamburger SV have moved to sign Bayer 04 Leverkusen goalkeeper Tom Starke on loan until the end of the season as they aim to fill the gap left by an injury to regular No1 Martin Pieckenhagen.
Possible debut
The 22-year-old Leverkusen goalkeeper is set to compete with Stefan Wächter for the regular slot in the Hamburg first team as they compete in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Cup. Starke has yet to make a full appearance in the German top flight. He may get his chance while Pieckenhagen attempts to recover from a cruciate ligament injury.
