Kärnten count on Pacult

Peter Pacult has returned to Austrian football to take charge of the Bundesliga's bottom team, FC Kärnten.

New arrival
The former Austrian international replaces caretaker coach Didi Constantini, who has resumed his role as Kärnten's sporting director having taken over first-team duties when Johannes Haubitz was sacked in October.

'Thirst for action'
Pacult, 44, will start work in January and has committed himself to Kärnten until 2005. His first task will be to lift the club off the foot of the table. "I am full of thirst for action and I am sure we will avoid relegation," he said.

Heading home
The coach has been without a club since March 2003 when he ended a long association with Germany's TSV 1860 München. He had been Werner Lorant's assistant at 1860 before taking sole charge of the team in October 2001.
