The new deal is for an unlimited period and replaces his original contract, which was due to expire in June 2004. "For me, the length of contract is not important," Vergoossen said. "I want to continue my work here, the rest doesn't matter."
Championship win
The 56-year-old Dutchman is in his third season with Genk. He led the club to the Belgian title in 2001/02, and his team currently occupy third place in the First Division behind RSC Anderlecht and R. Standard de Liège. Vergoossen was formerly with Roda JC.
