The 26-year-old has been suffering from the problem for around a month now, but still managed to play and score twice in the 3-1 win over TSV 1860 München on Saturday. However, club doctor Gerold Schwartz has ordered the 26-year old Argentinian to take a fortnight's complete rest and, depending on his recovery, he could be out until after the winter break.

Bremen blow
Staying in Germany, SV Werder Bremen could be missing striker Nelson Haedo-Valdez for four Bundesliga matches and the cup match against Hertha BSC Berlin. The 20-year-old has been named in Paraguay's squad for the upcoming FIFA World Youth Championship in the United Arab Emirates and Bremen have already agreed to release him for the duration of the tournament which begins in the last week of November.

Krupnikovic ban
Hannover 96's Albanian playmaker Nebosja Krupnikovis has received a four-match ban from the German Football Association after video evidence was used to find him guilty of kicking out at Ümit Davala during last Saturday's 5-1 home defeat by Werder Bremen.

Ahamada signs new deal
FC Nantes Atlantique striker Hassan Ahamada has signed a two-year extension to his contract with the Ligue 1 club. The 22-year-old, who is coach Loic Amisse's son-in-law, is now tied to Les Canaris until June 2006.
