On familiar ground
Ikäläinen played for Örgryte from 1981-85 and returns after three years coaching VPS Vaasa in Finland. "I didn't hesitate when I was offered the job," he said. "I feel honoured, as I really enjoyed my stay at the club last time around. Örgryte are forward-thinking and it is great to be part of their future."
Börjesson stays
Ikäläinen will work as head coach with Sören Börjesson continuing as assistant coach. The man the Finn replaced, Erik Hamrén, left Örgryte to become coach at Danish side Aalborg BK.
