S.S. Lazio closed in on AC Milan and Juventus with a 2-1 win at Udinese Calcio early on Saturday night.

S.S. Lazio kept in touch with Serie A leaders AC Milan and Juventus FC with a 2-1 victory at Udinese Calcio early on Saturday night.

Corradi on target
Roberto Mancini's side took the lead in the 18th minute when striker Bernardo Corradi rose above Udinese goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis to head a Massimo Oddo cross into the net.

Instinctive Inzaghi
However, the home side drew level eleven minutes later, with striker Vincenzo Iaquinta equalising with a superb volley. The visitors secured all three points three minutes past the half-hour, as Simone Inzaghi was on hand to score from close range after De Sanctis could only parry a powerful shot from Dejan Stankovic.

Into third
The win took Lazio up to third place with their eight games having yielded 16 points, three less than Milan and Juventus. On Sunday, AS Roma face Reggina Calcio, Parma AC visit Brescia Calcio and AC Chievo Verona come up against Internazionale FC.
