Wolves suffer Lescott loss

Members

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC expect to be without defender Joleon Lescott for the rest of the English season.

Out of action
Lescott was Wolves's player of the 2002/03 season but has not featured for the club this term, having undergone operations on both knees after the team's promotion play-off victory last May. The 21-year-old has since struggled with stiffness and soreness in his right knee during his rehabilitation, and doctors have confirmed that further surgery is needed.

'Further exploratory surgery'
Wolves manager David Jones said: "We have had confirmation that Jo needs further exploratory surgery on his right knee to ascertain the extent of his problems. We are now talking to eminent consultants regarding the timing of the operation."
