FC Zwolle have appointed Hennie Spijkerman as coach after dismissing Peter Boeve two weeks ago.

Zwolle return
The 52-year-old, a former goalkeeper with the Eredivisie club, signed a one-and-a-half year contract on Monday evening and leaves second-division side BVO Emmen, where he had been working as coach and technical director.

'Good to be back'
"I am glad to be back," Spijkerman said. "I have always stayed interested in this club and I never made it a secret that my wish was to work in the Eredivisie." Zwolle are currently bottom of the 18-team Dutch top flight, having taken two points from their first seven games.

'Clear vision'
Zwolle general manager Henry van der Vegt was also pleased with the appointment, saying: "He is a coach who knows what he wants, who has a clear vision and a way of working. He knows the club, is very good at organising and will fit in well here."
