Belarus needed a last-minute equaliser to preserve their unbeaten record as Israel narrowly missed a chance to open up a four-point gap at the top of UEFA European Women's Championship Group 6.

Israel began the match holding a one-point lead over their hosts and Estonia, and seemed set to expand it when Azala Lican gave them a 78th-minute lead. But Belarus, who have a game in hand, levelled the match through Maryna Lis.

Estonia, now two points adrift of Israel having also played three games, will meet the leaders in the group's next match on 8 May 2004 in a venue yet to be decided. Belarus restart their bid for promotion 17 days later in Kazakhstan.
