News round-up: Wolverhampton Wanderers FC have signed Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni.

Subject to work permit
The deal is subject to the 19-year-old obtaining a work permit or a French passport that would entitle him to play in England. Kameni had asked for a second chance after Wolves initially pulled out of a deal to sign him last week when he failed to appear for a medical.

Gent strengthen
KAA Gent, meanwhile, have strengthened their squad ahead of the new Belgian campaign with the recruitment of striker Miljan Mrdakovic. Last season the 21-year-old Mrdakovic, who has agreed a one-year deal, scored 20 goals for OFK Beograd as they finished third in the Serbo-Montenegrin championship.

Maroslavac on the move
Croatian midfielder Ivan Maroslavac has joined the Israeli Premier League side Bnei Yehuda Tel-Aviv FC on a one-year contract. The 27-year-old leaves HNK Cibalia, the Croatian club who competed in this season's UEFA Intertoto Cup.

Hillel calls it a day
Staying in Israel, Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC's veteran defender Ya'acov Hillel, who has won more Israeli titles than any other current player, has announced his retirement after 20 years at the top. Hillel, who is 37 this month, won five championships and five Israeli Cups with four different clubs.

Enough is enough
"I have been contemplating whether to hang up my boots for a year," Hillel said, "and eventually I decided enough was enough." Hillel, who made seven international appearances, will remain at Tel-Aviv as a youth coach. He also played for Hapoel Lod, Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC and Beitar Jerusalem FC.
