Germany remain in control of UEFA Women's Championship qualifying Group 4 after beating the Czech Republic 4-0 in Passau.
Gottschlich goal
The five-times winners of the competition were without Shelly Thompson, Verena Hagedorn, Sara Gunther, Sandra Minnert and Conny Pohlers, and did not take the lead until the stroke of half-time, when VfL Wolfsburg’s Stefanie Gottschlich put them ahead.
Victory confirmed
Sandra Minnet doubled their advantage on 71 minutes, and Birgit Prinz made it 3-0 two minutes later. Germany’s victory was completed in added time by substitute Martina Müller.
Perfect record
Tina Theune-Meyer’s side now have three wins from three games, and have nine points to Scotland’s six. Germany are at home to Portugal in their next match on 13 November, while the Czech Republic, who are fourth with one point from two fixtures, visit the Portuguese on 6 December.
