Menichini at work in Ancona

One-year contract
The 49-year-old Menichini has agreed a one-year contract to replace Luigi Simoni, who was sacked despite leading the club to promotion. Menichini has spent the last ten years working as assistant to Carlo Mazzone, who parted company with Brescia Calcio earlier this summer.

Salvatori joining
Menichini, who has yet to speak about his new role, has brought fitness trainer Nazareno Salvatori with him from Brescia. The pair will put the Ancona squad through their paces at a pre-season training camp in Norcia.
