Article body
Newly-promoted Thróttur Reykjavík moved top of the Símadeildin table with a 2-1 win at home to bottom side Fram Reykjavík.
Two-point lead
Previous leaders Fylkir slipped to second after suffering a 1-0 defeat at Valur Reykjavík, enabling Thróttur to open up a two-point gap at the top.
Quick comeback
The new leaders fell behind a minute past the half-hour, as Baldur Bjarnason opened the scoring with a long-range shot that found the net off a post. However, the lead lasted only four minutes, as Björgolfur Takefusa was brought down inside the penalty area and Sören Hermanssen equalised from the spot. Three minutes before half-time, Takefusa scored what proved to be the winning goal, taking his total for the season to nine strikes from nine games.
Narrow victory
Meanwhile, Fylkir remained without a win away from home as Halfdan Gislason scored the only goal of the game to enable Valur to move away from the bottom of the table.
Fourth consecutive win
Third-placed Grindavík recorded a fourth successive victory with a 2-1 win away to KA Akureyri, despite falling behind to Steinar Tenden's 67th-minute strike. Two goals in six minutes from Oli Stefan Flovents and Ray Anthony Jonsson turned the match in the away team's favour.
Last-gasp winner
Champions KR Reykjavík were 2-1 winners at home to FH Hafnarfjördur, with Veigar Pall Gunnarsson scoring a last-minute winner. Meanwhile, two goals from Atli Johannsson and one from Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson earned ÍBV Vestmannæyjar a 3-0 victory away to ÍA Akranes.
