Fylkir took over the league leadership in Iceland with a 1-0 win against KA Akureyri on Sunday, in the process gaining revenge for their 3-0 reverse against the same team in the last 16 of the cup earlier in the week.
Thróttur top briefly
Björn Vidar Asbjörnsson scored the only goal of the game after 33 minutes. Thróttur Reykjavik briefly led the division on Saturday after beating FH Hafnarfjördur 4-1 - two days after losing to 2-1 to them in the cup. Björgolfur Takefuse hit a hat-trick for Thróttur to go top of the goalscoring charts with eight goals from eight games.
Champions held
Saturday's other game saw ÍBV Vestmannæyjar and KR Reykjavík draw 0-0 in windy conditions in the Vestmanna Islands. The result leaves champions KR in fifth place, five points adrift of leaders Fylkir.
Fram win
At the national stadium in Laugardalur, bottom club Fram Reykjavík saw off Valur Reykjavík 2-1. The visitors scored first when Fram goalkeeper Gunnar Sigurdsson flicked Halfdan Gislason's shot into his own net after 35 minutes. However two goals in the last nine minutes sealed a remarkable Fram comeback. Captain Agust Gylfason scored from the spot while Ingvar Olason's winner arrived in the 87th minute.
Three in a row
Grindavík won their third game in a row, edging out ÍA Akranes 3-2 at home to move into third place. First-half goals from Olafur Örn Bjarnason and Ray Anthony Jonsson put the hosts two ahead before Stefan Thor Thordarson dragged ÍA back into the game four minutes before half-time.
Advantage extended
Gudmundur Andri Bjarnason extended Grindavík's advantage in the 65th minute. Five minutes later Gretar Rafn Steinsson reduced the deficit but try as they might ÍA failed to force an equaliser.
