Khoma misery for Karpaty

Members

FC Karpaty Lviv midfield player Yaroslav Khoma has been banned for seven months for a failed drugs test.

Banned substance
The 29-year-old tested positive for a banned substance after Karpaty's league game against FC Dynamo Kyiv on 17 May. The Ukrainian international has been suspended until 3 February 2004 by the FFU's Control and Disciplinary Committee.

'I am shocked'
Khoma said: "The last time our doctor gave me an injection was in February, when I got injured at our training camp. I can't imagine how it happened. I am shocked." Karpaty can appeal against the decision on 14 July. Khoma returned to Karpaty, his first club, from FC Shakhtar Donetsk last season.
