Terms agreed
The 22-year-old forward, who this month scored five goals in a 7-2 league win against CA Boca Juniors, has moved for a €3.5m fee. He underwent a medical at Birmingham's Saint Andrews stadium on Wednesday before finalising personal terms. The transfer is still subject to international clearance.
'Very impressed'
"I am very excited at the prospect of playing in the English Premier League with Birmingham City," Figueroa was quoted as saying. "I was very impressed with the ground and the whole set-up and I am looking forward to playing my first game at Saint Andrews."
'Good signing'
Birmingham manager Steve Bruce told the club's website: "He was the top goalscorer last season in Argentina so we believe that, for the price, he will be a very, very good signing." Bruce, whose team finished 13th last season, has also signed David Dunn from Blackburn Rovers FC for €7.7m.
