Asbjörnsson the hero
FH Hafnarfjördur had taken over at the summit with a 3-1 win at ÍBV Vestmannæyjar in Sunday's early kick-off, but Fylkir reclaimed first place after substitute Björn Vidar Asbjörnsson scored an injury-time winner at the Laugardalsvöllur.
Late, late show
KR had taken the lead through Sigurdur Ragnar Eyjolfsson on 19 minutes but Fylkir recovered to draw level through Haukur Ingi Gudnason's strike eight minutes before half-time. And with 92 minutes on the clock, Asbjörnsson made himself a hero when he headed in the deciding goal.
Tables turned
KR, who dropped to third in the table with this result, had scored a last-minute goal to snatch the league title away from Fylkir last season, but the tables were turned on Sunday.
FH dominate
Meanwhile, ÍBV went ahead against FH through Bjarnolfur Larusson's 18th-minute penalty, but the visitors responded with a Tommy Nielsen spot-kick on the stroke of half-time. FH then dominated after the restart and scored their second goal through Atli Vidar Björnsson before Jonas Grani Gardarsson added a third.
Losing streak
Valur Reykjavík, who won their first two games of the campaign, have now lost four successive matches after a 3-1 home defeat by ÍA Akranes. Johann Hreidarsson gave the hosts the advantage but Gudjon Sveinson replied for ÍA with two quick goals before defender Reynir Leosson completed the scoring on the stroke of half-time.
Grindavík improve
On Saturday, newcomers Thróttur Reykjavik had the chance to go top of the table when they travelled to troubled Grindavík. But second-half goals from Paul McShane and Gudmundur Andri Bjarnason rendered Charlie McCormick's late strike for Thróttur little more than a consolation.
