Soon after winning promotion to the Belgian top-flight K. Heusden-Zolder have signed eleven KRC Genk players.
New players
Genk coach Sef Vergoossen gave Heusden-Zolder counterpart Peter Balette a 13-player list of available players from which he chose the following to bolster his side's squad - goalkeeper Logan Bailly; defenders Eric Matoukou, Kevin Vanbeuren, Wilfried Delbroek, Stefan Teelen and Justice Wamfor; midfield players Mike Mampuya, Vincent Euvrard, Domen Bersnjak and Cedric Vanderelst and forward Igor De Camargo.
Genk help
Both clubs have also announced that Genk, whose ground Heusden-Zolder use for home games, will take care of ticket sales and administration for their tenants. Fourteen years ago SK Heusden were in the second tier of the Amateur Division in Belgium. Now, five promotions and a 1999 merger with Helzold Zolder later, the club have reached the highest level of Belgian football.
