End of an era
The move marks the end of an era for Moré, who has spent 27 years of his professional life with the club he joined as a player at the age of 23. Valladolid president Carlos Suárez spoke of "the end of a cycle" as he explained the reasons for the club's decision.
Vázquez rumours
"We have counted on a good coach for the past two-and-a-half years," said Suárez. "We have been safe in the league with no real problems but this place, on the bench, is not easy and cycles must come to an end." Fernando Vázquez, the former Rayo Vallecano coach, is favourite to fill the vacant position.
Second spell
Moré, who had served as assistant to a long list of managers during his stay at the club, took the reins himself for a second time midway through the 2000/01 season, as a replacement for the Argentinian Francisco Ferraro. He had previously been in charge during the 1993/94 campaign.
'Achieved our goals'
His contract was due to expire at the end of the month and Moré said: "It's a good day for the club and for me. If I had had to choose a way to leave this club, this would have been the one as we have achieved the goals we set out when I was offered the job." Valladolid finished the season in 14th place in the Primera División.
