Pasching move for Baur

Former Austrian international Michael Baur has left Hamburger SV to return home and join SV Pasching.

'Impressive effort'
Defender Baur has signed a two-year contract with Pasching, who finished fifth in their debut season in the Austrian Bundesliga in 2002/03. "I was impressed by the efforts the club made to sign me, and the squad and the facilities here are excellent," said Baur, who will be available for his new club's UEFA Intertoto Cup first round match against FC WIT Georgia Tbilisi later this month.

German switch
Save for a brief stint with J League side Urawa Red Diamonds, the 34-year-old Baur spent almost all his career with FC Tirol Innsbruck before the 2002 Austrian champions went bankrupt last summer. He subsequently moved to Hamburg but failed to settle at the AOL Arena. Baur then agreed terms with Austrian side SV Ried last month but the deal collapsed after the club were relegated.
