Former Maltese Under-21 international Mark Anthony Bonnici has agreed an extension to his contract with Maltese Premier League side Birkirkara FC, which will keep him at the club for the next three years.
Commanding performances
Earlier in the season, the 23-year-old former Sliema Wanderers FC defender struggled to command a regular starting berth in Stephen Azzopardi’s side but forced his way in with a series of commanding performances and ultimately helped Birkirkara to two trophies.
Two to come
Two other key Birkirkara players, Maltese international duo William Camenzuli and George Mallia, have both seen their contracts expire but are expected to follow in Bonnici's footsteps in the near future.
