Coach Miroslav Svoboda has replaced Jozef Adamec as coach of UEFA Intertoto Cup hopefuls FC Spartak Trnava.

Intertoto Cup campaign
The Slovakian side have called in the coach, who led ŠK Slovan Bratislava in two brief spells last year, to lead the side as they embark upon their Intertoto Cup campaign this summer. His first game in charge will see Spartak take on FK Pobeda from F.Y.R. Macedonia in the first round of the competition.

Controversial figure
He takes over a side who were led into the top flight in Slovakia by 61-year-old Adamec in the 2001/02 season. The one-time record scorer in the Czechoslovakian league has retired from football after a controversial career which saw him fall foul of disciplinary bodies on a number of occasions.

Brisk dismissal
Meanwhile, with promotion issues already decided, second division winners FK Dukla Banská Bystrica have already dismissed their coach. Anton János was sacked only days after winning the second division title and the club are now on the hunt for a replacement.
