Third spell
Engel was dismissed by the Polish Football Federation (PZPN) after last year's FIFA World Cup, when Poland were eliminated in the first round, and he has not worked since. But the 51-year-old now returns to Legia for a third spell.
Oledski stays on
He was coach there from 1985-89 - when Legia twice finished runners-up in the league - and then had a season as general manager in 1995/96. His predecessor as technical director, Janusz Oledzki, will remain at the club.
New coach
Legia finished fourth in the Ekstraklasa last term and their failure to qualify for Europe signalled the departure of coach Dragomir Okuka. His assistant, Dariusz Kubicki, is the new coach and he has named reserve-team boss Krzysztof Gawara as his No2.
